My 6-Month Experiment: Letting Energy Lead the Way

The Vibe High Club (soon to be ‘Vibes’) is a newsletter dedicated to helping you hack your energy, personally and professionally, by harnessing the art, science, and technology of internal and external energies to navigate change, create your reality, and build a life that’s uniquely yours. New here? Six months ago, I embarked on an experiment to let energy be my guiding force—the core “technology” I use to create meaningful change, navigate life authentically, and achieve my desired outcomes. This journey has been a powerful exercise in building a new type of resilience. It requires more discipline than I realized, but now, more than ever, I believe energy is everything. It’s not only how we experience our reality but how we actively shape it. Today, I’m excited to share some of what I’ve learned so far, hoping it can add value to your journey.

1. Create Space for What Matters

This June, I turned 37—my year of depth and no B.S. With three kids, big goals, and a clear vision, I knew it was time to focus my energy only on what genuinely lights me up and adds value to my life. It wasn’t about being selfish; I recognized that I needed to simplify and clarify my intentions to be my healthiest, most grounded, and most successful self. Studies show that reducing cognitive load by eliminating unnecessary tasks can boost productivity by up to 25%, reinforcing the importance of creating space. Take a look at your commitments—do they align with who you want to become and the goals you’re striving for? If not, consider ways to simplify and refocus your energy.

2. Trusting Intuition is Hard & Takes Practice

As a claircognizant, I often receive intuitive downloads as thoughts. (If you’re unsure which “clair” you resonate with, exploring it can be a valuable tool for understanding your natural energetic design.) This insight called me to embody my belief that energy is everything and let it guide my life blueprint. Trusting energy’s ethereal, intangible quality can be challenging, especially for a logical, intellectual mind. Research has shown that our brains make decisions up to 10 seconds before we’re consciously aware of them, illustrating the influential role of intuition and subconscious processing. Start small—try journaling intuitive nudges and noting their impact. Over time, you may find it easier to let intuition guide your decisions.

3. Know Your Personal Energy Metrics

Defining my personalized energy success metrics has been key, but following them takes intentionality and discipline. Each of us has a unique design that influences how we read and respond to energy. For instance, I recognize alignment through a "lit up" sensation; my husband senses it differently. No one can get clear on what your success metrics are besides you. Research on personality-based frameworks like Myers-Briggs or CliftonStrengths reveals that aligning our actions with our unique energy patterns can boost productivity and satisfaction. I recommend exploring tools like your Human Design Chart (Jenna Zoe’s app is a great resource) or getting an astrology reading. These insights can help you discover your “personal energy meters” and clarify what alignment feels like.

4. Parent with Your Energy in Mind

With young kids, separating your energy from theirs can be challenging, especially since their needs often come first. However, I’ve noticed that our home life flows more smoothly when I stay grounded in my energy. Studies show that managing parental stress—essentially, managing your energy—can reduce children’s behavioral challenges by up to 40%, illustrating how deeply a parent’s well-being affects the entire family. When you inevitably face challenging behavior or feel stretched thin, try grounding your energy first. Take deep breaths, go for a walk, cook, call a friend. This grounding process often has a positive ripple effect on everyone at home.

5. Let Go of Past Versions of Yourself

Growth often requires us to release old versions of ourselves, and that process can be both complex and emotional. Recently, I realized I’d been holding onto the version of myself from my 20s and early 30s. She kept me safe, helped me achieve many goals, and brought a lot of fun and true self-love into my life for the first time. She was the first version of me that proved I could become the woman I wanted to be. But the ways she achieved success no longer serve me today. I had to acknowledge, thank, and let her step back to make room for who I am now. Consider if there are past identities or habits you’re holding onto—gently let them go and let yourself grieve to make room for your current self to thrive.

6. Embrace the Disruptive Nature of Change

Transformation can feel scary and disruptive, but it’s often essential for growth. Remember to be mindful of what you wish for; change often comes with shifts that can feel uncomfortable at first. Research shows that 70% of people feel discomfort during major life changes. So, if you want change, lean into it. It may feel challenging at first, but this process can lead you closer to your desired life.

So, with that, I’ll leave you to reflect on how these experiences might resonate with your journey. Behind the scenes, I’ve been working on what this ever-evolving energy work and brand will look like, and I can’t wait to share more with you when the time is right.

In the meantime, I’d love to hear from you—what resonates? How do you think about energy in your own life? And what aspects of this vast topic would you like to explore more deeply?

Xx,

Dayna
