I’m reading Osho's Intuition: Knowing Beyond Logic, and when I say it has changed my life, I’m not exaggerating. Today’s post isn’t a book review, but I highly recommend it to anyone interested in sharpening their intuition and using it as a core navigation tool.

Understanding Our Human Operating System: Internal Knowing vs. External Knowledge

Osho explains that humans have three core components of our internal intelligence operating system:

  1. Instinct (Body): Our most basic, primal form of intelligence is essential for survival. This biological mechanism functions automatically—think of your heart beating or feeling hungry. Instinct is immediate and reactive, guiding us in moments of physical need.

  2. Intellect (Mind): This is our capacity for reasoning, logic, and problem-solving. Intellect helps us analyze information, make informed decisions, and navigate the complexities of life. However, we live in a world where intellect (or knowledge) has become overemphasized, leaving other forms of intelligence undervalued.

  3. Intuition (Soul): Our highest form of intelligence—intuition is a deep, inner knowing that arises beyond logic or reasoning. It's subtle, often challenging to explain, and taps into a deeper awareness that aligns with our true selves. Osho describes it as a direct experience of truth that isn’t limited by the mind’s constraints.

The Importance of Harmonizing Instinct, Intellect, and Intuition

In modern life, we tend to ignore or suppress our instincts, over-prioritize intellect, and neglect intuition. This imbalance creates a disconnect from our true selves, leading to decision-making that feels forced or misaligned.

Data backs this up. Research in psychology suggests that over-reliance on intellectual reasoning can lead to analysis paralysis, where too much information clouds decision-making. Conversely, studies on intuition show that “gut feelings” can lead to faster, more aligned, and more accurate decisions, particularly in complex or uncertain situations. The challenge is to integrate all three—instinct, intellect, and intuition—to make decisions that are holistic and aligned with our authentic selves.

Why Is This Important?

Understanding our intuition isn’t just for the woo-woo and spiritual seekers. In a world increasingly driven by technology, algorithms, and unlimited access to information, I believe our intuition will become our most important tool for discerning truth from noise. Why? Because information is infinite and easily manipulated. AI and technology are moving in a direction where humans can’t compete in terms of processing data, logic, and output. Our intuition is our superpower against some of today’s most challenging “bad guys.”

But here’s where intuition becomes vital. It’s inherently human, deeply personal, and rooted in our authentic experience. AI and a sea of social media sameness can replicate knowledge but can’t replicate knowing as it’s uniquely yours.

The Power of Knowing vs. Knowledge

The more I lean into my intuition, the more I find myself in flow, grounded in my authentic power. Becoming aware of what internal knowledge is versus external knowledge has been a game-changer. Intuition is your truth—it stems from your unique experiences, feelings, and perceptions. Knowledge, on the other hand, is someone else’s experience—valuable, but it needs to be processed through the filter of your intuition to truly serve you.

Takeaways for Your Life:

  1. Practice Awareness of Knowing vs. Knowledge: Start noticing when operating from intuition versus intellect. Ask yourself: “Is this decision coming from an inner knowing or external information?” The more you practice discerning between the two, the sharper your intuition becomes.

  2. Use Intuition to Make Decisions: Trust your gut. Begin with smaller decisions (i.e., do I want pizza or Chinese for dinner), and as you build trust in your intuition, apply it to larger life choices. Research shows that intuition and intellect make more balanced decisions when we work together.

  3. Balance Intuition with Intellect: Once you’ve identified an intuitive nudge, use your intellect to strategize and refine it. Let your intuition lead, and then use knowledge to shape and implement it in a way that serves your goals.

  4. Get clear on your unique design: I’ve found astrology, human design, gene keys, and therapy to be helpful tools in understanding my authentic code and removing the conditioning and programming I’ve picked up on my journey. Email me directly if you want details on the people I work with or platforms I use on this front.

By using intuition to guide your decisions and intellect to strengthen them, you’ll navigate life more easily and authentically. In an era where external knowledge is overwhelming, the real power lies in knowing yourself—and living in alignment with that truth.

I still plan to migrate to Substack — I just haven’t had a chance. I am also toying with changing the name of this newsletter to “Vibes”… stay tuned for more. xx
